Easter Study, Immersion Days and Revision Resources

Earlston High School provides a range of study support to allow you to prepare for your exams. This support includes additional study sessions during the Easter Holidays, “Immersion Days” during study leave and collated revision resources on Teams centered around effective learning strategies.

Easter Study

As we approach the SQA examinations, we are offering extra study sessions, in addition to the usual weekly study offered by our subjects.

At the bottom of this page you will find the times and dates of all our sessions which will take place during the Easter Holidays. For a pupil to attend one of these, they must sign up by clicking here.

There are some clashes in the schedule – our students are welcome to split their time between the subjects. On the day, the pupil should go to the department they are attending.

Immersion Days

We are offering some “Immersion Days” – a time that a pupil can come into the department to study, in advance of their exam. Dates for immersion days can be found at the bottom of this page. There is no need to sign up for these.

Revision Resources

We have created a Revision channel on each of the S4, S5 and S6 Whole Year Group Teams. It contains all of the following information:

• the presentation from the November Revision Assembly (click to download) and
• links to the Achieve Website and Scholar (login through Glow). These are both online tools for subject specific theory and self-marking questions.
• You will also find links to further information on effective learning strategies including

  • a video guide on effective learning strategies and
  • a link to “The Learning Scientists” website.

Finally, the Revision channel contains Quick Revision Guides to common revision strategies, which are below.
